UAE-based Tajikistani singer and internet sensation Abdu Rozik was briefly detained at Dubai International Airport on Saturday. He was released later the same day, according to a report by Khaleej Times.
Rozik, 21, posted a video on Instagram hours after the incident. The clip showed him receiving an award at the India International Influencers Awards (IIIA), held on July 12 at the Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights. However, the video made no mention of his airport detention.
UAE Police Yet to Release Official Statement
Rozik was reportedly taken into custody shortly after arriving from Montenegro. Sources familiar with the matter claimed he was granted bail with travel restrictions. One individual who claimed to have filed the complaint spoke to Khaleej Times but asked not to be named. This information has not been independently verified, and official sources have remained silent.
As of Sunday afternoon, Dubai Police had not issued any public statement. The Dubai Media Office also declined to comment on the situation.
