Sharjah firefighters extinguished a major fire at Hamriyah Port within 24 hours, authorities confirmed. The blaze erupted around 8 a.m. on Saturday. Specialized teams brought it under control by 6:25 a.m. Sunday, preventing further spread. Officials reported no injuries.
The fire ignited highly flammable materials stored on-site. Firefighters responded swiftly to contain the flames. Maj-Gen Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, told Khaleej Times there were no casualties. He stressed that teams remain focused on protecting lives and property.
Teams used advanced equipment and top-tier emergency protocols to fight the blaze. Bin Amer urged the public to follow official updates and avoid rumors. He emphasized relying on verified sources for accurate information.
Authorities continue to monitor the site closely and will issue updates as needed.
Last week, a fire broke out at a petrochemical and fiberglass facility in Sharjah’s Al Sajaa area. Sharjah Civil Defence contained that fire quickly, preventing damage to nearby facilities. On May 25, firefighting teams from Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority extinguished a warehouse fire in Mussaffah’s industrial area. No injuries occurred.
